This handcrafted Little Wooden Rocker was bought in the very early 1980's at
Michie Tavern in Charlottesville Virginia. Sturdily built, probably of pine,
with a woven seat, it will fit dolls of about "American Girl" size. However,
through the years, little bitty toddlers of about 1 year to 18 months old have
actually managed to sit in it. Great hilarity ensued when they attempted to
stand up again and their chubby diapered bottoms were so tightly wedged in,
that the rocker stuck to them!
All measurements were taken with the rocker in its stable position on the
floor. It is 15 1/2" tall at the back and 6 1/4" tall to the seat at the front.
The rockers are 14" long. The width across the front at the seat from post to
post is 9 1/8", and across the back 6 1/8".
It is unmarked, bought at a craft market at Michie Tavern in Charlottesville
Virginia in about 1981.
It is in very good condition, no issues, clean, woven seat intact, and with
very few light marks.
