Shiro is a piebald Risso's dolphin. She was captured in 2014 and put on
display because of her unusual colouring. Shiro was the second of three white
dolphins to be captured in the Taiji hunts during 2013-2014, which has led some
scientists to speculate that the Fukushima nuclear incident may have had an
impact on the dolphin population in Japanese waters.
This plushie is made with markings accurate to photos of Shiro. A portion of
the sale of this plush will be donated to the Whale and Dolphin Conservation
Society.
She is approximately 15 inches (38 cm) long, 4 inches (10 cm) wide and 6
inches (16 cm) tall, and is made of soft minky fabric. She has acrylic safety
eyes, and is stuffed with polyfibre stuffing. Her fins are backed with quilt
batting.
Can't decide between Shiro and Yuki? Why not both?
Please note that due to small parts and delicate hand-stitching, this plushie
is not suitable for children. She is a collectors items for teenagers and
