This rock is almost entirely encased in an irregular scrapwork of leather
patches. It displays itself at numerous different angles, cushioned by the
smooth leather, with no risk of the stone scratching the surface it's resting
on.
The red granite stone has a natural textured surface that peeks through the
gaps between the leather pieces. The leather patches are hand-cut to enclose
the rock tightly, their geometries and overlaps matched to the curvature of the
stone. They are cut from a very smoothly finished 5 oz chrome-retanned leather,
and riveted in place.
It weighs 1 pound 8 ounces, and is a slightly squashed spheroid measuring
3-1/4 inch at widest, 2-3/4 inch at shortest.
