I made the first of these little guys to use up some crazy fun fur yarn- I
thought it would make memorable hair! My daughters started calling them "ginks"
(short for Ginkgo Girls, of course), and I thought it had a great Dr. Seuss
sound, so it stuck. Later, I searched the term to see if it was being used and
found that it was early 20th century slang for "an odd fellow" Perfect! This
Gink is sky blue wool with furry blue and green hair. He is about 5 1/2" long,
and sits at about 3 1/2" tall. He will include a tag with the dictionary
definition of "gink" and washing instructions. Ginks have safety eyes that have
been securely felted in place, but they are not meant for anyone young enough
to still be chewing their toys as some pieces could pose a choking hazard.
Ginks are part of a large brood, but yours will be knit with the same yarns and
just as lovable as the one pictured. He's willing to leave his tree...care to
adopt this odd fellow?
